(Phenomenology and Creativity)

I bring a new way of seeing. That is the most significant way in which I can contribute to Oglivy.

(Cont’d)
Phenomenological experiences shape and enhance what we put out into the world. As an experienced meditator and contemplative, I engage deeply with my surroundings, using a critical lens to translate my lived experiences into creative output. Through meditation, I cultivate heightened awareness of perception, temporality, and embodiment—allowing me to approach design, research, and storytelling with greater depth and intentionality.
In my work as a creative, mindfulness principles—througn an exploration of how sensory perception and presence influence user experience—play a key role. By attuning to subtle shifts in awareness and affect, I create immersive, intuitive, and meaningful interactions for diverse audiences. Similarly, in my writing and research, I employ contemplative reflection to challenge dominant narratives and uncover new ways of seeing. This practice enables me to engage with complexity, honor nuance, and foster deeper connections between ideas, people, and environments.
At its core, my creative process is an inquiry into perception—how we experience, interpret, and reimagine the world around us. By weaving phenomenology and contemplation into my work, I aim to cultivate designs, narratives, and experiences that invite others into moments of deeper engagement and understanding.

* I have been practicing mettā for a long time. Mettā is my way of connecting with the world. Mettā gave my creative practice a meaning and my voice a purpose.

Video 1: A brief presentation about how collaboration transformed by creative practice during my undergraduate education. It situates my creative practice in my meditation practice of mettā.

1. This site, in many ways, is a manifesto of my creative practice. Here, I attempt to understand the process of creation—a process which is inherently relational and emergent—through theory and practice. As most creative endeavors, this project is highly collaborative. A special thanks to all advisors and professors, Anais Missakian, Rashid Zia, Harold Roth, Steven Sloman, Judson Brewer, Larson DiFiori, Lisa Scull, and Anna Gitelson-Kahn; to my friends, especially Dway Lunkad and Ethan Hoskins; and everyone I have ever collaborated with.

2. This site was built using custom HTML/CSS on Cargo Collective, set in Favorit and Arizona Variable typefaces. SAP GREEN and WASH BLUE are used to delineate THEORY and PRACTICE respectively.

3. I try to live by the rule that brevity is generosity. I apologize in advance; this site is anything but brief.
